Widening the Circle: Staying present in a changing world

9 October at 09:30 to 16:30

In this day long workshop, we will join together in a spirit of connection and collaboration to explore the various ways in which our personal meditation practice can open to meet the challenges of the wider world, of which we are a part.

What is covered?

We will learn practices, individually, in pairs and in groups that can support us to stay responsive, resourced and creative while navigating the pressing realities of our time; deteriorating climate: political, social and natural. The facts are unavoidable and the necessity of a robust practice that can enable us to ‘turn towards’ rather than away, is essential both for us as individuals practitioners and teachers, but also for our wider communities and world. In this day, we will have the companionship and support of like-minded others to open to, and explore our concerns, transforming fear and overwhelm into inspiration and collaboration.

We will draw on the work of environmental activist and systems scholar Joanna Macy, as well as Interpersonal and personal mindfulness practice.

Who is this for?

This masterclass is suitable for anyone interested in developing skills, inner resources and a robust practice that can include the challenges of the world at large. Teachers and trainers, who want to develop their own inner resources in order to be able to adequately support others in these times of major change.
