Our compassion-oriented events support the development of people interested in compassion-oriented approaches, such as Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) and Mindfulness-based Compassionate Living (MBCL). These include events lasting from one day up to a week and are typically led by nationally and internationally renowned speakers, as well as by local teachers with experience and training in this field.

During the unimaginable health crises brought upon by the global pandemic, both mental and physical healthcare professionals were called upon to serve the needs of the public often at enormous costs to themselves. The emotional toll to the care providers has been tremendous. What can we learn from the new science of empathy and compassion to help care for the carers? How can care providers continue to stay connected with their compassionate motivation to serve in such challenging times? Tools from mindfulness and compassion training can help promote greater resilience, genuine self-compassion, and connection with others while positively impacting your professional work. Join our online conversation to explore this theme further.
Thupten Jinpa will talk for one hour followed by a 30-minute question and answer session moderated by Dr Robert Marx, co-lead of the Sussex Mindfulness Centre.
Thupten Jinpa is donating his fee for this talk to charity. On his behalf we will donate proceeds to the Tibet Relief Fund. Any additional funds will support the Sussex Mindfulness Centre’s mission to bring mindfulness to all who can benefit from it. Please give generously.
In partnership with the Compassion Institute, we will be offering a rare opportunity to do Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT™) in the UK, starting in October 2023. CCT™ was developed in 2009 at Stanford University by Thupten Jinpa with contributions from the Founding Faculty. If you are interested in taking part in the eight-week CCT programme you can email smc@spft.nhs.uk to register your interest.
