These events support the development of people interested in compassion-oriented approaches, such as Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) and Mindfulness-based Compassionate Living (MBCL). These include events lasting from one day up to a week and are typically led by nationally and internationally renowned speakers, as well as by local teachers with experience and training in this field.

Train to teach Mindful Self-compassion

As we start 2021 it’s with regret, that due to the current Covid lockdown, we have had to cancel the Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher Training at Ammerdown, Somerset planned for March 2021.
We are in touch with our colleagues at the Center for Mindful Self-compassion ) to arrange another face-to-face training course as part of the MSC European and US events programme. We have arranged another course at Ammerdown which will run from Sunday 20th -Saturday 26th November 2022. The course will be led by Ali Lambie and Zoe Shobbrook-Fisher. People who have registered for the 2021 training have the option to have a refund or to transfer their booking to this rearranged course.
It is possible to take MSC Teacher training online in a 12-week non-intensive format instead.

2-day Core Skills Workshop in Mindful Self-Compassion

Due to Covid-19 we have had to cancel our face-to-face workshop planned for July 2021. However we have rearranged a date for 2022 to host this workshop in Mindful Self Compassion workshop with Kristin Neff and Chris Germer as part of their 2022 European tour:

The MSC Core Skills program is a workshop and not a retreat. Program activities include talks, meditation, experiential exercises, and group discussion. Participants will directly experience self-compassion and learn practices that evoke self-compassion in daily life (and the rationale behind them).
**This Core Skills Workshop allows an opportunity for people to immerse themselves in some of the key practices and exercises of the full 8-week program in an intensive 2-day format. **
After participating in this workshop, you will be able to:
- Understand the science of self-compassion
- Handle difficult emotions with greater ease
- Motivate yourself with kindness rather than criticism
- Manage caregiver fatigue
- Practice the art of savouring and self-appreciation
- Teach simple self-compassion exercises to clients
- Take the first step towards training as an MSC teacher
This workshop is an introduction to MSC and is not a qualification to teach the 8-week MSC Course which requires further training. No previous experience with mindfulness or meditation is required to attend the program.
