Spread your tail – Learn to teach mindfulness

Whether you’re interested in running an eight-week mindfulness course for the general population or want to bring mindfulness into your current work with your clients, the Sussex Mindfulness Centre has a teacher training course for you. Applications are now open for courses starting in February 2023.

Find out more

We’ll be having an online session at 6.30pm on Thursday, 10 November 2022 so you can find out more about the course and can ask any questions. Or you can arrange a call with the course convenor. Register your interest by emailing smc@spft.nhs.uk

One of the leading centres

You can train to teach Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with the Sussex Mindfulness Centre. You’ll be learning at one of the leading mindfulness centres in the UK and one of the only mindfulness teacher training and research centres embedded in the NHS.

Open to everybody

Our teacher training courses are open to everybody, whether or not you have a clinical background. And if you work in the NHS there are opportunities to apply for NHS Trust funded places. Also, we have some Equity, Diversity and Inclusion bursaries to make our teacher training more accessible to mindfulness practitioners from communities who may face barriers accessing mindfulness.

Apart from teacher training for MBCT or MBSR, we also offer training in delivering Adapted Mindfulness-Based Interventions for people who wish to include mindfulness based approaches safely and effectively, in their work with groups, but who don’t need or wish to complete the extensive training required to teach MBCT or MBSR.
