Mindfulness-based courses for nurse advocates
In conjunction with NHS England, the Sussex Mindfulness Centre is offering two free, online courses starting in January 2024 for nurse advocates. Find out more about the Mindfulness for Life course and our Compassionate Leadership Training below. And sign up for a taster session to sample the courses (see below).
Mindfulness for Life course
The eight-week Mindfulness for Life course for nurse advocates runs on Wednesday early evenings starting on 17 January with an orientation, and then running weekly until 20 March 2024 (with a gap for half-term on 14 February) 6-8pm. This programme offers mindfulness practices and cognitive-behavioural techniques in a way that is accessible for everybody. It can help professionals to respond to stress with wisdom and resilience, and to cultivate appreciation and connection. You can find out more about our Mindfulness for Life course here.
Compassionate Leadership Training
The six-week Compassionate Leadership Training for nurse advocates runs weekly on Wednesday afternoons starting on 31 January until 13 March 2024 (with a gap for half-term on 14 February) 1.30-3.30pm. Research shows that compassionate leadership can improve learning and innovation, reduce staff stress, injuries and absenteeism and even reduce patient mortality. Compassion stems from the notion that everyone experiences difficulties and we can all help each other in facing them. It is an essential quality in providing high quality healthcare. You can find out more about our Compassionate Leadership Training courses here.
