Live mindfulness session: Wednesdays
17 March 2027 at 08:15 to 09:00
Our live mindfulness sessions are led by experienced teachers and offer an opportunity to refresh and sustain your practice. It’s also hugely beneficial to practice with others. Join us.
Every Wednesday morning
Mindful compassion live mindfulness sessions from 8.15- 9.00 every Wednesday morning. These sessions are led by one of a small team of qualified teachers rotating weekly: Annie Akasati McAuley, Alison Austin, Svetlana Scheck-Ramzy and Warren Deighan. Participants at the drop-in appreciate starting their day with the spacious, grounding quality of mindfulness. They also enjoy the restorative, nourishing elements of self-compassion, kindness and care.
Who are these for?
These live sessions are open to everyone. We offer these sessions to support your practice, to allow you an opportunity to try out mindfulness and practice alongside others.
If you have no prior experience of mindfulness we would recommend attending one of our taster sessions first. You can book on to one of our tasters here. To get the most out of these live sessions we recommend completing an eight-week mindfulness course, if you haven’t already. You can find out more about these courses here.
Not for clinical or crisis care
These sessions are not a substitute for clinical care, and it is not advisable to do these mindfulness practices in the heat of a crisis, when it would be important to access your GP or your designated mental health clinician.
Queries
Do contact spft.smc@nhs.net if you have any questions about these live online meditation sessions. Please be aware that we are not a clinical or crisis service, and it will not be possible to respond urgently or clinically to emails.
Recommendations
We run these sessions as if we were practicing mindfulness together in the same room. So, during the session, to help create a sense of trust and community we encourage participants to keep their cameras turned on.
